CLAY: 2 hours till the show...
Its 2 hours to the show and the excitement is building up! We had a dress-rehearsal earlier this afternoon at 1pm and it was pretty smooth, not to mention sweet sounding. The band's gelling together well and the sound is clear and well mixed. We got the nodding approval from the international club officers as we rehearsed and I think that its a good sign!
Mission College hasn't had any band do a song of this 'magnitude' before - its kinda sad, but it's gonna change tonight when CLAY hits the stage with the opener, "My Sacrifice".
For me, I'm dressed up, my equipment's ready at the auditorium and I'm just waiting for time to roll by before I head down there to meet the rest of the guys. I'll try to get as many photos I can of this evening's event! Yay! Haven't been this excited in a while.
Question: Do I get the same feeling when I lead worship?
Answer: Nope... it's a different kind of exhilaration and it's more scary - it's all about you and not about God - the focus is totally different. It's weird but when I lead worship, I feel more calm and assured than when I perform. I think it's a big difference... I also feel like mistakes come easier when you're performing for yourself - maybe it's just me eh? Any comments anyone?
cheerio!
